Chomp profited zero dollars for the first six years. I mean, we did business. We got POs. We sponsored events and athletes, but I personally took home no pay.
For years I simply kept brand alive. I kept my head down. I kept making. I tried to make customers happy.
I made good deals that were offset by bad deals. I still make bad deals.
In 2019 I signed away the licensing rights to our wholesale distribution. Then, at the end of 2019 our wholesale business was driven to zero. I ended the partnership on Christmas Eve.
Then a few months later, a pandemic happened.
Yet, as of today, we’ve sold over 1.5M units of tees.
In spite of every setback, I just keep the brand going. I don’t think ten steps ahead, I think one step ahead.
Can I make something today? The answer is always, yes.
I know that regardless of where Chomp will be next year, or in ten years. I can continue to make things. That’s the only goal I have.
My advice to you is, don’t set a giant goal. Instead of making an album, write one song. Want to be an artist? Take a single drawing class.
Just take one step. And f*ck goals.
